Every Echo Trace can moves through a real local dealer. These are the terms that govern that transaction — warranty, returns, shipping, and the Form 4 handoff. Written in plain language.
The full terms are below. If you only read this section, this is what actually happens when you buy an Echo Trace suppressor.
Every Echo Trace suppressor ships to a licensed FFL/SOT dealer — never directly to a customer. Purchases placed online route to your chosen dealer, who handles the Form 4 process with you.
A suppressor is an NFA item. You cannot take possession until the ATF approves your Form 4 tax stamp. Wait times vary — plan for weeks to months depending on ATF backlog and application type (individual vs. trust).
Once your Form 4 is approved and the suppressor is transferred to you, the sale is final. This is a legal reality of NFA transfers, not a company policy we made up — a transferred suppressor cannot be resold as new.
Every Echo Trace suppressor carries a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Baffle strikes, negligence, and unauthorized modifications are excluded. Service is coordinated through your dealer.
To purchase an Echo Trace suppressor you must be at least 21 years of age (or of any higher minimum age required by your state of residence), a legal U.S. resident, and not prohibited by federal or state law from receiving a firearm or NFA item. Applications are approved solely by the ATF, not by Echo Trace or your dealer. If the ATF denies your Form 4, your dealer will process a refund per Section 7 below.
Suppressors are legal for civilian ownership in most U.S. states, but not all. As of the effective date of these terms, we do not ship suppressors to buyers residing in:
California · Delaware · District of Columbia · Hawaii · Illinois · Iowa · Massachusetts · New Jersey · New York · Rhode Island.
State laws change. It is your responsibility, and your dealer's responsibility, to confirm that ownership is legal in your state at the time of purchase. If your state's law changes to prohibit possession after purchase but before transfer, we will refund per Section 7.
Every Echo Trace suppressor sale is fulfilled through a licensed FFL/SOT dealer of your choice — never shipped directly to a customer. When you order at echotracesuppressors.com, you select your dealer at checkout (by ATF ZIP search or by uploading your dealer's FFL), and we ship the can to that dealer. If you buy through an authorized retailer, that retailer coordinates with your selected dealer.
Your dealer of record is the FFL/SOT that will physically hold the suppressor while your Form 4 is pending and will complete the transfer to you once the ATF approves. Warranty and service are coordinated through this dealer.
A suppressor is regulated as a Title II NFA firearm under the National Firearms Act. Taking possession requires ATF approval of a Form 4 tax-stamp application, which includes fingerprints, a photograph, responsible-person information (for trusts), a $200 federal transfer tax, and Chief Law Enforcement Officer notification.
The Form 4 process runs between you, your dealer, and the ATF. Echo Trace is not a party to your Form 4 and cannot influence ATF processing time. Historically, individual-applicant Form 4 wait times have ranged from several days (e-Form) to several months. Your dealer can give you a current estimate at time of purchase.
Your suppressor is physically held by your dealer, in its serialized bound-book inventory, until the ATF approves the transfer. On approval your dealer will contact you to complete the ATF Form 4473 background check and transfer the suppressor to you.
Prices shown on echotracesuppressors.com and through our authorized retail channels are in U.S. dollars and exclude the $200 federal ATF transfer tax, applicable state sales tax, and any dealer transfer or administration fees. These are collected separately by the ATF, the taxing authority, or your dealer.
We accept payment through the payment processors offered at checkout. Payment is authorized at the time of order and captured when your order is accepted. If we cannot fulfill your order for any reason, your full purchase price is refunded to the original payment method.
All shipments move to your dealer of record via a common carrier appropriate for firearms shipments, with signature required on delivery. Domestic standard shipping to the dealer is included in the purchase price unless otherwise noted at checkout. We ship within the continental United States and, where allowed by law, to Alaska and Hawaii-legal jurisdictions.
Risk of loss and damage transfers from Echo Trace to the buyer upon delivery to the dealer. If your dealer receives a shipment with visible shipping damage, the dealer should refuse the shipment and contact us immediately at orders@echotracesuppressors.com.
We do not ship internationally. We do not ship directly to customers under any circumstance.
You may cancel your order any time before your Form 4 is submitted to the ATF, for a full refund of the purchase price to your original payment method. Refunds typically post within 5–10 business days depending on your payment method.
After the Form 4 is submitted but before ATF approval, cancellation is still permitted. A restocking and processing fee of up to 15% of the purchase price may apply to cover dealer coordination, Form 4 handling, and return-to-inventory costs. Your dealer may also charge separate administrative fees for Form 4 preparation already performed.
If the ATF denies your Form 4, we refund the full purchase price. Your dealer's administrative fees and the ATF's $200 tax (if collected and cashed by the ATF) are handled separately per ATF policy.
Once the ATF has approved your Form 4 and the suppressor has been transferred to you at your dealer, the sale is final. This is not a policy we invented — it is a legal reality of NFA transfers. A suppressor that has been transferred to a private individual on a Form 4 is a used NFA item and cannot be resold as new.
If your transferred suppressor is defective, the lifetime warranty in Section 9 applies. If you no longer want the suppressor after transfer, you may sell it through your dealer on a new Form 4 to another buyer; Echo Trace does not buy back transferred suppressors.
Every Echo Trace suppressor is warranted for the lifetime of the product against defects in materials and workmanship, when used with factory-manufactured ammunition of a caliber and pressure rating for which the suppressor is rated. The warranty is transferable and follows the suppressor through subsequent Form 4 transfers to new owners.
If we determine that a suppressor has a defect covered by this warranty, we will, at our option, repair the suppressor, replace the defective component, or replace the suppressor with an equivalent product. Replacement suppressors are handled through a new Form 4 transfer at no additional cost to the buyer (except the $200 ATF tax, which is payable per federal law on every transfer).
Start every warranty claim through the dealer of record on your suppressor. Your dealer coordinates directly with us for warranty service, including any required shipment back to Aberdeen. If your dealer is no longer in business or you no longer have a dealer of record, contact us at orders@echotracesuppressors.com and we will route you to a nearby authorized dealer.
Do not attempt to disassemble a suppressor for warranty inspection beyond routine field-service disassembly documented in your owner's manual. Unauthorized disassembly voids the warranty.
The lifetime warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. It does not cover:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Echo Trace's total liability for any claim related to a suppressor purchase is limited to the purchase price paid for that suppressor. Echo Trace is not liable for incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages, including but not limited to lost profits, downtime, or replacement of firearms or accessories used in conjunction with the suppressor. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so this limitation may not apply to you.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be lawfully excluded.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Federal firearms law governs the underlying transfer. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or a suppressor purchase will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms in effect on the date of your purchase govern that transaction. When we change these terms, we update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced prominently.
